A decadent dessert with a surprise fissure of cream cheese running through it! This easy cake starts with a boxed mix but is transformed into something spectacularly rich and gooey.

Ingredients

  • For the Base:

    • 1 cup sweetened, shredded coconut

    • 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped

  • For the Cake Layer:

    • 1 (15.25 oz) box German chocolate cake mix

    • 1 cup water

    • ½ cup vegetable or canola oil

    • 3 large eggs

  • For the Cream Cheese Filling:

    • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

    • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened

    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    • 2 cups powdered sugar
