Prepare the Marinade
In a shallow glass dish, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ground ginger, and garlic powder.
Marinate Chicken and Pineapple
Add the chicken pieces and pineapple chunks to the marinade. Stir well to coat everything evenly.
Refrigerate
Cover the dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours (the longer, the better for more flavor).
Prepare the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grate to prevent sticking.
Assemble Kabobs
Thread marinated chicken and pineapple alternately onto skewers.
Grill
Place skewers on the grill and cook for 15–20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken juices run clear.
Baste
While grilling, baste kabobs with BBQ sauce for extra flavor.
