Instructions
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
In a 13×9-inch baking dish, combine stew meat, cream of mushroom soup, brown gravy mix, beefy onion soup mix, and water. Stir until well mixed.
Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake for 3 hours—do not remove the foil or peek during cooking!
Remove from oven, stir, and serve hot over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice.
Variations & Storage
Swap cream of mushroom soup with cream of celery or golden mushroom soup for richer flavor.
Add sliced mushrooms or diced onions before baking for more texture.
For extra flavor, stir in a splash of Worcestershire sauce or a pinch of black pepper.
Storage:
Cool leftovers completely, then refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
Freeze in freezer-safe containers for up to 3 months.
Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave. Add a little water or broth if needed to loosen the gravy.
Serving Suggestions
Serve over creamy mashed potatoes, buttered egg noodles, or steamed rice.
For a hearty twist, try garlic mashed cauliflower or buttered polenta.
Pair with roasted vegetables, steamed green beans, or a crisp garden salad.
Enjoy with warm buttermilk biscuits or crusty bread to soak up the gravy.
Finish your meal with a light dessert like peach cobbler, bread pudding, or apple crisp.
