Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).

In a 13×9-inch baking dish, combine stew meat, cream of mushroom soup, brown gravy mix, beefy onion soup mix, and water. Stir until well mixed.

Cover tightly with aluminum foil.

Bake for 3 hours—do not remove the foil or peek during cooking!

Remove from oven, stir, and serve hot over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice.

Swap cream of mushroom soup with cream of celery or golden mushroom soup for richer flavor.
