- Refer to your washing machine’s manual to find the hidden switch. It is usually located near the bottom or back of the machine.
- Activate the switch to drain any dirty water from the machine. This helps remove accumulated dirt and bacteria.
- Pour 2 cups of white vinegar into the drum.
- Run a hot water cycle to help disinfect and remove any odors.
- Remove the detergent drawer and soak it in warm, soapy water.
- Use an old toothbrush to scrub away any residue.
- Use a microfiber cloth dampened with vinegar or a mild cleaner to wipe down the exterior of the machine.
- Check the rubber seal around the door for any trapped dirt or mold.
- Wipe it down with a cloth soaked in vinegar.
- Add 1 cup of baking soda to the drum.
- Run another hot water cycle to further clean and deodorize the machine.
- Run a final rinse cycle with just water to ensure all cleaning agents are removed.
- After cleaning, leave the washing machine door open to allow it to air dry and prevent mold growth.
