Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking pan (or line with parchment).
Mix ingredients:
In a large bowl, stir together the pumpkin purée and chocolate cake mix until fully combined. The batter will be thick — that’s normal!
Spread into pan:
Evenly spread the thick batter into the prepared baking dish.
Bake:
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are fine).
Cool and serve:
Let it cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Enjoy warm or chilled!
Vegan chocolate chips
Chopped walnuts or pecans
A dash of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon
Dust with powdered sugar or cocoa after baking
