  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.

  2. Add Water: Gradually pour in the warm water, stirring until a sticky dough forms.

  3. First Rest: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest for 15 minutes.

  4. Shape Dough: After the initial rest, wet your spatula and gently fold the dough over itself a few times to develop structure.

  5. Second Rest: Cover again and refrigerate for 6 to 24 hours.

  6. Prepare for Baking: After the dough has rested, place a clean kitchen towel in a bowl and sprinkle with flour. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface, shape it into a round loaf, and place it seam-side down into the prepared bowl. Cover and let it rise for 90 minutes.

  7. Preheat Oven: While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 230°C (446°F). Place a heavy-bottomed pot (like a cast-iron Dutch oven) inside to heat up.

  8. Bake: Once the dough has risen, carefully remove the hot pot from the oven. Place the dough inside, cover, and bake for 30 minutes. Then, remove the lid and bake for an additional 20 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
