Tomato Baked Chicken

🔥 Instructions
1. Preheat & Prep
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Sear the Chicken (optional but tasty!)
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.

Season chicken with salt & pepper.

Sear for 2–3 minutes per side just to get some color. (You can skip this step if you’re short on time.)

3. Make the Tomato Sauce
In a bowl or saucepan, mix together:

Crushed tomatoes

Garlic

Oregano, basil

A little salt & pepper

Optional: add a pinch of sugar if your tomatoes are acidic.

4. Assemble
Place chicken in a baking dish.

Pour tomato sauce over the top.

Sprinkle with cheese, if using.

5. Bake
Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until chicken is fully cooked (internal temp: 165°F / 74°C).

Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end if you want the cheese golden and bubbly.

6. Garnish & Serve
Top with fresh basil or parsley. Serve hot!

🍽 What to Serve It With
Pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes

A hunk of crusty bread to soak up the sauce

Roasted veggies or a fresh green salad on the side
