In a bowl, roughly chop the hard-boiled eggs into small pieces (you can also mash them if you prefer a smoother texture).
Add the flour, breadcrumbs, grated cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, and fresh parsley (or cilantro) to the bowl.
Crack the egg into the mixture and season with salt, pepper, and ground cumin (if using).
Mix everything together until well combined. The mixture should be sticky and hold together. If it’s too dry, you can add a little bit of water or a splash of milk to bind it.
Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a ball or patty, about the size of a golf ball.
If you want a crispier coating, you can roll the fritters in some additional breadcrumbs before frying.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. You need enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan.
Once the oil is hot, carefully place the fritters into the pan, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
Remove the fritters from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serve your Hard Boiled Egg Fritters warm with your favorite dipping sauce (such as ketchup, chutney, or a spicy mayo). They’re perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side dish.
For extra flavor, you can add chili flakes or curry powder to the mixture.
If you prefer a healthier version, you can bake the fritters at 375°F (190°C) for about 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
You can also experiment by adding veggies like grated carrots or spinach to the mixture for added texture and nutrition.
These Hard Boiled Egg Fritters are a crispy, flavorful snack that’s simple to make and a great way to enjoy hard-boiled eggs in a new, exciting way!
