How to whiten white clothes without bleach?

Vinegar and bicarbonate duo: the effervescence that cleans

Want a “fizzing” effect against stains? Mix 50g of baking soda  and  20cl of white vinegar  in your washing machine. This effervescent reaction acts as  a gentle scrub  for fabrics, removing deep-down dirt and odors.

The sun: your favorite natural dryer

Once washed, hang your tea towels in direct sunlight . Its UV rays have a natural whitening effect, in addition to disinfecting and lightly perfuming.  And nothing beats the smell of air-dried laundry.

Coarse salt: the anti-yellowing weapon

Coarse salt isn’t just for cooking pasta! Add  about 100g (or a handful)  to your wash: it helps brighten whites, set colors, and remove stubborn stains, especially grease.

Bonus tip: the dishwasher tablet

Surprising but effective: in a basin, dissolve  a dishwasher tablet, add very hot water and a spoonful of  ecological dishwashing liquid . Soak your tea towels for  30 minutes . Result?  Visibly cleaner tea towels.

By adopting these simple, economical, and environmentally friendly actions, you’re taking care of your laundry while respecting the planet. And between you and me, who would have thought that a lemon or some coarse salt could compete with a bottle of bleach? So, grab your dishcloths!
