Tips
Here are some additional tips to maximize the effectiveness of this homemade trick against ants:
Locate the entry points: Identify the areas where ants usually enter, such as windows, doors, cracks in the walls or around the baseboards. Placing the bait near these points will help attack the colony more quickly.
Keep the mixture fresh: If after a few days the bait dries out or no longer attracts ants, replace it with a new mixture. Ants may lose interest if the bait loses freshness or moisture.
Keep pets and children from touching it: Although it is a natural remedy, borax can be toxic if ingested in large quantities. Make sure to place the bait in places where it is not accessible to children or pets.
Don’t clean up ant trails immediately: Ants often leave a chemical trail so that other ants can follow the path to food. If you clean up this trail, it will be harder for other ants to find the bait. Wait a few days after placing the poison before cleaning the affected areas.
Combine with physical barriers: Once you have eliminated the colony, seal the entry points with silicone or caulk to prevent future invasions.
Monitor the anthill: If you know where the anthill is, keep an eye on it. One sign that the bait is working is to use a chemical barrier to keep the anthill from moving.
nando is seeing less activity around the anthill after a few days.
