Prep the apples:
Toss apple rings with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Let them sit for 10 minutes to soften slightly and absorb flavor.
Cut the puff pastry:
Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
Cut into strips (about ½ inch wide).
Wrap each strip around an apple ring like a spiral, slightly overlapping to cover the entire ring.
Brush and bake:
Place wrapped rings on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Brush with beaten egg for golden color.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–22 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
Cool and serve:
Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with icing (optional).
Mix ½ cup powdered sugar with 1–2 tsp milk and a drop of vanilla extract, then drizzle over the doughnuts.
