Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the puff pastry:

    • Roll out your puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface (if it’s not already rolled).

    • Brush the pastry with melted butter and sprinkle the sugar evenly over the surface.

  3. Form the palmier shape:

    • Starting from one edge of the pastry, fold the sides inward toward the center, about halfway.

    • Repeat the folding from the other side, until the two edges meet in the middle.

    • Fold both sides again towards the center to form a tight roll. (You’ll end up with a long, rectangular roll.)

    • Slice the rolled pastry into 1/2-inch pieces.

  4. Arrange on the baking sheet:

    • Place the individual pieces on the parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

  5. Bake:

    • Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and caramelized, flipping the palmiers halfway through for even browning.

  6. Cool and serve:

    • Let the palmiers cool slightly before serving.
