Instructions:

  1. Prepare the bread:

    • Cut a square or rectangle hole in the center of each bread slice using a knife (save the cut-outs).

  2. Make the egg mixture:

    • In a bowl, beat the eggs with milk.

    • Add chopped vegetables, cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  3. Assemble the frittata toast:

    • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and grease it with butter or oil.

    • Place the hollowed bread slices on the pan.

    • Pour a spoonful of the egg mixture into the center hole of each slice.

    • Cover with a lid and cook for about 3–4 minutes, until the egg is set and the bottom is golden.

  4. Flip (optional):

    • If you prefer it cooked on both sides, gently flip and cook for 1–2 more minutes.

  5. Toast the cut-outs:

    • Toast the removed bread centers in the pan until golden and use them as dippers!

  6. Serve hot:

    • Garnish with fresh herbs or a dash of hot sauce, if desired.
