These delicious stuffed cabbage rolls are a comforting and tasty dish, perfect for a family meal!
Ingredients:
– 1 large head of cabbage
– 450g minced pork
– 120ml cooked rice
– 1/2 onion, finely chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 egg
– 1 tsp salt
– 1/2 tsp black pepper
– 1 tsp paprika
– 1 can diced tomatoes (400g)
– 60ml tomato sauce
– 2 tbsp brown sugar
– 1 tbsp white vinegar
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pan of water to the boil. Carefully remove the outer leaves from the cabbage and blanch for 2-3 minutes until softened. Drain and leave to cool. Repeat until you have enough leaves for the roulades.
2. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, cooked rice, chopped onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper and paprika. Mix well until smooth.
3. Lay a cabbage leaf flat, spoon a spoonful of filling near the base of the leaf, fold the sides in, then roll tightly to enclose the filling. Repeat with the remaining leaves and filling.
4. In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, brown sugar and vinegar. Stir well until smooth.
5. Arrange the cabbage roulades, seam-side down, in a large saucepan. Pour the tomato sauce over the roulades, cover and simmer over low heat for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
6. Serve hot, top with sauce, and enjoy.~~
