Heavenly Cinnamon Roll Breadtwists

Soft, fluffy bread twists filled with buttery cinnamon-sugar and finished with a sweet vanilla glaze. These heavenly cinnamon roll breadtwists are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy dessert.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

  • ¾ cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 large egg

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

Cinnamon Filling

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2–3 tablespoons milk

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  2. Add remaining sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.

  3. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  6. Roll dough into a rectangle about ¼-inch thick. Spread softened butter over the surface.

  7. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough.

  8. Cut dough into strips, twist each strip, and place on prepared baking sheet.

  9. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden brown.

  10. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm breadtwists before serving.
