Nut Candy
A classic, old-fashioned nut candy that’s sweet, buttery, and full of crunch. This simple treat comes together with just a few pantry ingredients and is perfect for holidays, gift trays, or a quick homemade sweet.
Ingredients

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup light corn syrup

2 tablespoons butter

1½ cups mixed nuts or peanuts (roughly chopped)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon baking soda
Instructions

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly butter it.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt. Stir until sugar is dissolved.

Bring mixture to a gentle boil and cook, stirring occasionally, until it turns a light golden color.

Remove from heat and quickly stir in vanilla extract and baking soda (mixture will foam).

Immediately fold in the nuts until well coated.

Pour mixture onto prepared baking sheet and spread thin with a spatula.

Let cool completely until firm.

Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
