Strawberry Cheesecake Turnovers

Ingredients

Filling

  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup strawberry pie filling or chopped fresh strawberries + 2 tablespoons sugar

Pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Optional Glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tablespoons milk

  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling
    In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
    Gently fold in strawberry filling or sweetened strawberries.

  2. Prepare the Pastry
    Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
    Unfold puff pastry and cut into 4 equal squares.

  3. Fill & Fold
    Spoon 1–2 tablespoons of filling into the center of each square.
    Fold into triangles and press edges with a fork to seal.

  4. Egg Wash
    Brush tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.

  5. Bake
    Place on a lined baking sheet.
    Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.

  6. Glaze (Optional)
    Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm turnovers.


Tips & Variations

  • Don’t overfill—this prevents leaking.

  • Add a little lemon zest for extra brightness.

  • Swap strawberries for blueberry, cherry, or peach filling.

  • These freeze well (unbaked or baked).
