Place the tray in the freezer for 5-10 minutes, just to let the chocolate layer firm up a bit.
Once the chocolate layer is firm, spoon about 1 teaspoon of the chocolate hazelnut spread on top of the chocolate layer in each muffin cup. Spread it out evenly.
Finish by adding another small spoonful of melted chocolate on top of the hazelnut spread layer to fully cover it.
Tap the tray again to smooth out the layers.
4. Freeze and Set:
Place the muffin tin in the freezer and let the chocolate hazelnut cups set for about 30-40 minutes, or until completely firm.
5. Serve:
Once set, remove the cups from the freezer, peel off the liners, and enjoy! These little treats are perfect for a quick, indulgent snack or a fun party treat.
Tips for Success:
Chocolate Type: You can use dark chocolate for a richer flavor or milk chocolate for a sweeter, creamier taste. You can also mix both types of chocolate for a perfect balance.
Optional Add-ins: If you want to take these cups up a notch, you can add crushed hazelnuts or other nuts on top of the hazelnut spread before the final layer of chocolate.
Storage: These chocolate hazelnut cups will stay fresh in the freezer for up to a week, and they make a great treat to store for whenever you need a quick sweet bite.
