This evening, I came home tired and just wanted to sleep and get some rest.

I froze the moment I saw them.

At first, I couldn’t even tell what I was looking at.

Scattered along the dusty floor beside my bed were several small, dark shapes twisted into strange positions. They were half-hidden beneath strands of hair, dust, and tiny bits of debris that had collected over time.

For a few unsettling seconds, my brain struggled to make sense of what my eyes were seeing.

Then the fear arrived.

The objects looked disturbingly organic.

Not like dirt.

Not like lint.

Not like anything that belonged in a bedroom.

They looked like tiny bodies.

Tiny corpses abandoned in a forgotten corner of the room.

And suddenly, every terrible possibility seemed plausible.

A Mind Filled With Worst-Case Scenarios

The more I stared, the worse they appeared.

Their curled shapes looked unnatural.

Their dark color made them seem old.

Their location beside my bed somehow made everything more disturbing.

Questions flooded my mind.

Had insects been living in my room without me knowing?

Was there some kind of infestation hidden behind the walls?

Too uncomfortable to ignore them.

Too nervous to touch them.

The room suddenly felt different.

The familiar space where I slept every night no longer felt entirely safe.

The Search For Answers

Eventually, curiosity became stronger than fear.

I grabbed a flashlight and moved closer.

Carefully.

Slowly.

Trying not to imagine every horror story I’d ever heard.

The closer I looked, the stranger they seemed.

They weren’t moving.

There was no smell.

No obvious signs of insects crawling nearby.

Nothing suggested an active infestation.

Yet they still looked unsettling enough to keep me from relaxing.

I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep until I understood exactly what they were.

So I did what millions of people do when confronted with a mystery.

I started researching.

The deeper I searched, the more possibilities appeared.

Some explanations sounded harmless.

Others sounded terrifying.

Each new theory seemed to send me in a different direction.

For a while, I became convinced I was dealing with something genuinely serious.

The uncertainty was exhausting.
