  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt or sour cream (adds tenderness)

  • 1 egg, separated

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for sweet fritters)

  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Optional Add-ins:

  • ½ cup finely chopped apples, bananas, or berries for fruit fritters

  • Dash of cinnamon or nutmeg (for warm flavor)

  • Sprinkle of powdered sugar or drizzle of honey for serving
