🍎 Melt-in-Your-Mouth Apple Pie Recipe

Ingredients

For the Pie Crust (Super Soft & Buttery)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 150 g cold unsalted butter (cut in cubes)

  • 3 tbsp sugar

  • 1 egg

  • ¼ cup cold milk (or water)

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

  • Pinch of salt

For the Apple Filling

  • 4 large apples (peeled & thinly sliced)

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 4 tbsp sugar (or honey)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (to thicken the filling)


🥣 Instructions

1. Prepare the Apple Filling

  1. In a pan, melt 3 tbsp butter.

  2. Add sliced apples, sugar (or honey), cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.

  3. Cook on medium heat for 10–12 minutes until apples are soft.

  4. Mix cornstarch with 1 tbsp water and add to apples.

  5. Cook another 1–2 minutes until the filling becomes glossy and thick.

  6. Remove from heat and cool completely.


🧈 2. Prepare the Soft Crust

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.

  2. Add cold butter cubes and rub them into the flour using your fingertips
    until the mixture looks like fine crumbs.

  3. Add the egg, vanilla, and cold milk.

  4. Gently mix until a soft dough forms — do NOT over-knead, this keeps it tender.

  5. Wrap and chill the dough for 20–30 minutes.


🥧 3. Assemble the Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Divide the dough into two parts.

  3. Roll out the first half and place it in your pie pan.

  4. Add the cooled apple filling.

  5. Roll out the second half and cover the pie
    (OR cut strips to make a lattice top).

  6. Seal the edges and brush the top with milk or egg wash.


🔥 4. Bake

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and crisp on top.

  • Let the pie cool slightly so it sets and becomes soft, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth.
