🥐 Unique Cheeseburger Stuffed Pastry
🧈 For the Dough

200 ml warm milk (1 cup)

1 egg white (reserve yolk for brushing)

5 g instant/quick yeast (½ packet)

20 g sugar (1 tbsp)

240 g all-purpose flour (about 2 cups)

5 g salt (½ tsp)

25 g butter, softened (about 1 tbsp)
🧀 For the Cheeseburger Filling

250 g ground beef
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
1 tsp garlic powder (or 1 clove minced)

½ tsp black pepper
-
½ tsp salt
-
½ tsp paprika
-
½ tsp mustard or ketchup (optional)

1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
-
Optional: chopped pickles or jalapeños
🥚 For Topping

Reserved egg yolk
-
1 tbsp milk
-
Sesame seeds (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Dough
In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Add egg white and salt, then gradually mix in flour.
Knead until soft, then add butter and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled.
2️⃣ Make the Filling
Heat a pan over medium heat.
Cook ground beef and onion until browned.
Add salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, and mustard/ketchup if using.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly, then mix in cheese.
3️⃣ Shape the Pastries
Punch down dough and divide into equal balls.
Roll each ball into a circle.
Place filling in the center, seal tightly, and shape into buns or crescents.
4️⃣ Brush & Bake
Place pastries on a lined baking tray.
Mix egg yolk + milk, brush on top, and sprinkle sesame seeds.
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
