Ingredients
For the Donuts:

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

1 tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp nutmeg

¼ tsp salt

1 large egg

½ cup brown sugar

⅓ cup granulated sugar

½ cup applesauce (unsweetened)

¼ cup vegetable oil

½ cup milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup finely chopped apple (peeled, tart variety like Granny Smith)
For the Crumb Topping:

½ cup all-purpose flour

¼ cup brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Optional Glaze:

½ cup powdered sugar

2–3 tsp milk
Instructions

Preheat Oven

Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.

Make the Donut Batter

In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

In another bowl, whisk egg, brown sugar, granulated sugar, applesauce, oil, milk, and vanilla until smooth.

Stir wet and dry ingredients together until just combined. Fold in chopped apples.

Mix flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir in melted butter until crumbly.
