Cream Puff Pastry Recipe

  1. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and butter. Let the custard cool to room temperature.
  2. Assemble the cream puffs:
    Once the puffs have cooled, use a sharp knife to cut them in half horizontally.
    Spoon or pipe the custard cream onto the bottom half of each puff. Place the top half of the puff on top to sandwich the cream filling.
  3. Decorate and serve:
    Dust the cream puffs with powdered sugar, if desired, and serve immediately.

Note: These cream puffs are best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
