  • 2 large bell peppers (any color), thinly sliced or finely chopped

  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped

  • ¾ cup (90g) all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour for a gluten-free version)

  • ¼ cup (60ml) water (adjust as needed)

  • 1 egg (optional for binding; skip if vegan)

  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley or cilantro

  • 1 tsp garlic powder or 1 minced garlic clove

  • ½ tsp paprika or chili flakes (for a little kick)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Oil for shallow frying
