Instructions

Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

Add the flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it, and let it rest for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling
5. In a small bowl, mix the grated cheese, chopped herbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Divide and Shape the Dough
6. After the dough has risen, punch it down to release air. Divide into 8 equal portions.
7. Flatten each portion into a small circle. Place a spoonful of filling in the center. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.

Roll the Filled Dough
8. Gently roll each stuffed dough ball into a flat circle, being careful not to let the filling spill out.

Cook the Flatbreads
9. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
10. Place each flatbread in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and puffed.
11. Repeat with remaining flatbreads, adding a small amount of oil to the skillet if needed.

Serve
12. Serve warm with your favorite dips or sides.
