Ingredients:
1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought, thawed if frozen)
4 oz chocolate (good quality, like a chocolate bar or chocolate chips)
Instructions:
1. Preheat Your Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Prepare the Puff Pastry:
Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a clean surface. If it’s pre-rolled, just unroll it.
Cut the puff pastry into rectangles. The size of the rectangles will depend on how large you want your pain au chocolat to be. A good size is about 3×4 inches.
3. Add the Chocolate:
Break your chocolate into smaller pieces, or use chocolate chips. Place a piece of chocolate in the center of each puff pastry rectangle. You can add more chocolate if you like it extra gooey!
4. Fold the Pastry:
Fold the puff pastry over the chocolate to create a small rectangle or envelope shape. Gently press the edges to seal it, ensuring the chocolate stays inside.
