🥖 Philly Cheesesteak Garlic Bread
Ingredients
- 1 large French bread or 4–6 sub rolls
- 450 g ground beef or thinly sliced steak
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- 200–250 g provolone or mozzarella, shredded/sliced
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C / 400°F.
- Cook the beef in a skillet until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and green pepper and cook for about 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook another 1–2 minutes.
- Mix softened butter with minced garlic. Slice the bread lengthwise and spread the garlic butter over it.
- Toast the bread for 4–5 minutes.
- Spoon the beef mixture generously over the bread.
- Cover with provolone or mozzarella.
- Bake for another 7–10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling. Broil for 1–2 minutes if you want the browned top shown in the photo.
- Sprinkle with parsley and serve hot.
