A complete, delicious, restaurant-worthy meal… but homemade with pure homemade love!
A comforting dish with a story:
While steak in sauce is popular in many European cuisines, this version with mushrooms and cream has a distinctly French flair (bonjour!). And if we add a fresh salad with a light vinaigrette, we have the perfect balance between creamy and crunchy.
Ingredients (4 servings):
For the fillets:
4 pork fillets (loin or leg, thin)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp of butter
1 tbsp of olive oil
1 clove of chopped garlic
200g of fresh sliced mushrooms
200 ml of cooking cream or whipping cream
½ tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
For the fresh salad:
Romaine lettuce or mixed greens
½ cucumber, thinly sliced
1 large diced tomato
¼ of a red onion, julienned
1 grated carrot
Fresh cheese or cubed feta (optional)
Quick vinaigrette:
3 tbsp of olive oil
1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar or balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon of honey
