How to Make Ground Beef Puff Pastry Pockets
Step 1: Cook the Beef Filling
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add onion and cook until softened.
Add garlic and ground beef. Cook until browned and fully cooked.
Stir in salt, pepper, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce.
Allow the filling to cool slightly.
Step 2: Prepare the Puff Pastry
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Lightly flour a surface and unfold the puff pastry sheets.
Cut each sheet into equal rectangles or squares.
Step 3: Fill the Pastry Pockets
Spoon beef filling onto one side of each pastry piece.
Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Fold the pastry over the filling and press edges with a fork to seal.
Step 4: Egg Wash
Whisk together egg and water.
Brush the tops of each pastry pocket with egg wash for a golden crispy finish.
Step 5: Bake Until Golden
Place the pastry pockets onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake for 20–25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Recipe Tips
- Let the beef cool before filling the pastry.
