Then five minutes later she said it again.
And again.
By the fifth time, I was laughing.
That’s when I noticed a man standing near a bench several yards away.
He wasn’t talking to anyone.
He was watching me.

He looked familiar.
Not familiar in the way strangers sometimes do.

A few moments later, he started walking toward us.
My smile faded.
