Ingredients

For the Cobbler

  • 12 original glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans sliced peaches, drained (or 5–6 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1½ cups whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt

Optional Topping

  • 2 tablespoons coarse sugar or granulated sugar
  • Light dusting of cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
  2. Scatter half of the doughnut pieces evenly across the bottom of the baking dish.
  3. Arrange half of the sliced peaches over the doughnuts.
  4. Repeat with the remaining doughnut pieces and peaches, creating even layers.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  6. Slowly pour the custard mixture evenly over the doughnut and peach layers. Gently press the doughnut pieces down with a spoon so they absorb the liquid.
  7. Let the mixture rest for 15–20 minutes, allowing the doughnuts to soak up the custard.
  8. Sprinkle the top with coarse sugar and a little extra cinnamon if desired.
  9. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown with bubbling peach juices around the edges.
  10. Remove from the oven and let the cobbler cool for 10–15 minutes before serving. This helps the custard firm up while remaining wonderfully creamy.
