👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Chill the Glass: Place a tall glass or beer mug in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes. A frosted glass keeps the float cold and prevents the ice cream from melting too quickly.
  2. Add the Ice Cream: Drop 2 large scoops of vanilla ice cream into the bottom of your chilled glass.
  3. Pour the Root Beer: Tilt the glass slightly and pour the root beer down the inside wall very slowly. If you pour too fast, the soda will react with the ice cream and overflow with foam. Fill to the top, letting the foam settle for a moment if needed.
  4. Top and Serve: Add a swirl of whipped cream and a cherry on top if desired. Serve immediately with a straw and a long spoon.
